Access & Port Activation
Networks can connect directly at a GNM-IX location or access the IX from another GNM location via L2 channels provided by GNM. An IX port then enables access to the unified switching environment.

GNM-IX is a unified Internet Exchange platform deployed across multiple exchange locations and tightly integrated with GNM’s backbone.
Participants connect through a single IX port and gain access to a distributed peering ecosystem within a controlled, consistent operational environment.
Networks can connect directly at a GNM-IX location or access the IX from another GNM location via L2 channels provided by GNM. An IX port then enables access to the unified switching environment.
GNM‑IX locations operate within a unified Layer‑2 environment overlaid on GNM’s DWDM backbone. This creates a distributed Internet Exchange platform rather than a collection of isolated local exchanges.
Participants can establish peering through Route Servers or direct bilateral sessions, choosing the relationships that fit their network requirements while maintaining full control over routing policy.
By default traffic can be exchanged over the whole distributed IX. Participants can choose the geographic scope of traffic exchange based on their network architecture and connectivity needs if they prefer local or regional peering.
Participants can extend their peering footprint to additional GNM‑IX locations and markets as GNM network grows, without building a separate interconnection setup in each location.
Connect through a single port and reach networks across multiple GNM-IX locations within one peering environment.
Keep traffic local where possible, with our own backbone providing efficient paths between regions.
Scalable Peering Without Redesign. Expand your peering footprint and geographic reach without rebuilding your core network architecture.
Add new locations and expand your peering reach faster through our backbone-integrated infrastructure.
Redundant infrastructure and diverse network paths help maintain resilient, reliable connectivity across the GNM-IX platform.

Carrier-grade foundations for a distributed Internet Exchange.
GNM-IX operates on a high-capacity switching platform engineered for deterministic Layer-2 traffic exchange across a unified peering environment.
The exchange fabric is built on carrier-grade switching infrastructure designed to support large-scale MAC tables, high port density, and predictable forwarding performance under peak load conditions.
Participants may establish peering via integrated Route Servers or through direct bilateral BGP sessions. The platform supports flexible peering policies, enabling networks to maintain full routing control while simplifying multilateral interconnection.
Standardized VLAN provisioning ensures consistent service delivery across all exchange locations, while support for jumbo frames and advanced Layer-2 features enables efficient transport of high-volume traffic workloads.
GNM-IX provides scalable port configurations designed to accommodate networks at every stage of traffic growth.
Available port capacities include:
10GE
100GE
400GE
Higher-capacity and breakout configurations may be supported based on deployment scenarios.
Participants may implement Link Aggregation (LAG / LACP) to increase throughput, introduce port-level redundancy, or distribute traffic loads across multiple physical interfaces.
The platform supports jumbo frame configurations and flexible capacity upgrades, enabling networks to scale interconnection bandwidth without service disruption or architectural redesign.
GNM-IX is deployed as a unified Internet Exchange fabric spanning multiple exchange locations and integrated with GNM’s backbone infrastructure.
All exchange nodes operate within a single controlled Layer-2 domain, enabling participants to access a distributed peering ecosystem through a consistent operational framework.
This architecture allows networks to connect at a single access point while reaching peers across multiple exchange locations without establishing separate IX relationships.
Inter-site connectivity is engineered to maintain traffic symmetry, predictable forwarding paths, and operational consistency across the platform.
GNM-IX is designed to provide predictable and transparent traffic exchange while preserving full routing autonomy for participating networks.
Participants may peer via Route Servers for rapid multilateral interconnection or establish bilateral BGP sessions to maintain granular routing policies.
The platform supports BGP communities and traffic engineering controls, enabling networks to influence routing decisions, manage inbound and outbound traffic flows, and optimize interconnection performance.
This flexible routing framework allows participants to scale peering relationships without introducing operational complexity or compromising policy control.
Resilience is embedded at every layer of the GNM-IX platform architecture.
The exchange fabric is engineered with redundant switching infrastructure, diverse inter-site connectivity, and no single points of failure within the peering environment.
Traffic exchange paths are designed to maintain service continuity in the event of localized infrastructure incidents or maintenance activities.
Operational monitoring is supported by 24/7 network supervision, ensuring rapid incident detection, controlled maintenance execution, and platform stability under evolving traffic conditions.
